Eating Australian Bass

Australian Bass are a very popular eating fish that is well known across Australia and targeted by recreational fishermen for both sport and eating in the rivers and dams.

Many fishing competitions are held around Australia for bass but most of these are catch and release competitions.

Bass are excellent eating with a clean white flesh that can be cooked any way you like. The are considered the best of all Australian freshwater fish for eating.

Known as the Barramundi of the south they are considered better eating than barras.

They don’t get any off flavours so you can just catch your fish straight from your dam and eat them and they taste great, whether small or large.
